The Krivoklat castle belongs among the oldest castles of Bohemian princes and kings. The castle has been built by king Vaclav IV in 12 century. The castle buildings have been harmed several times by burning.
The castle buildings have been use as prison and the meaning of this castle has been reduced. The castle holders were the family Furstenberk, the building has been rebuilt; this situation stayed until of the year 1929. The castle servers nowadays like historic landmark with the hunting collections, museum and picture gallery, torture chamber with torturing instruments.
